Sudhir Pathak, managing director of QP Pharma Chem Limited, claimed that someone had copied the cough syrup to malign the Indian government after the WHO issued a product alert on it in the Marshal Islands and Micronesia.
A “WHO Medical Product Alert” has been released by the WHO due to “substandard (contaminated)” Guaifenesin Syrup. TG In Micronesia and the Marshall Islands, syrup was discovered.
The product in question is made by QP Pharma Chem Limited in Punjab, India.
According to WHO, Trillium Pharma in Haryana is the product’s marketer.
“Food And Drug Administration (FDA) of Punjab doubt that someone has duplicated the product (cough syrup) sent to Cambodia and then sold it in the Marshall Islands and Micronesia to defame the Government of India,” stated Sudhir Pathak, MD.
