Himachal Pradesh is home to 660 pharmaceutical businesses, the majority of which are situated in the Baddi Barotiwala-Nalagarh region. Rajni Bhargava, the owner of the Cyper Pharmaceuticals business in Baddi, has been placed in judicial detention till June 7 by a Nalagarh court. On May 24, Bhargava was detained on suspicion of producing fake medications.
Ten medicine samples made in Himachal Pradesh have been deemed inadequate by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation.
Some of these medications are used to treat specific forms of breast cancer, bacterial infections, and hormone regulation.
The samples that didn’t match quality criteria, according to the drug authority, were made in Paonta Sahib, Kala Amb, and Baddi in the Sirmaur district and the Solan district, respectively.
The medications include misoprostol, which is used to treat stomach ulcers and induce labour, astrazol, which is used to treat hormonal imbalances, astrizo, which cures breast cancer, and the antibiotics amoxicillin and cloxacillin.
